About Me

I'm Tim Hardwick, an independent writer and editor based in the UK. Over the past twenty years I've written for more than 30 newsstand and digital publications, covering everything from Apple products and consumer technology to popular science, digital art, and the creative industries.

My editorial career began in magazine publishing, where I worked as Operations Editor at MacFormat and Computer Arts, contributing features, tutorials, and reviews across multiple issues and redesigns. During that time I also wrote extensively for Science Uncovered, producing long-form features on topics ranging from brain mapping and sustainable cities to the mysteries of Linear B and the history of computer networking. Other credits include ImagineFX, Windows Help & Advice, Tap! Magazine, and the official Tour de France programme, which I managed editorially from commission to press.

More recently, my work has focused on Apple and the wider tech landscape. I'm a senior contributor at MacRumors, and my writing has appeared in BBC Science Focus, TechRadar, and numerous other outlets. Whether it's a 200-word app review or an 8,000-word feature, I bring the same care to research, structure, and clarity.
